ERROR: timeout – Waiting for Base server connection (any protocol) even with working internet

Hallo,

I am facing the following issue when trying to join a Husarnet network on a ROSbot (and also on my PC):

SUCCESS: Successfully registered a join request
SUCCESS: Waiting for Base server connection (any protocol)…
ERROR: timeout

I do have internet connectivity:

  • ping 1.1.1.1 and ping google.com work

  • Web browsing works

  • I tested from both the ROSbot and the PC

I already followed all recommended troubleshooting steps:

  • Restarted the husarnet service

  • Checked husarnet status and journalctl -u husarnet

  • Tested UDP/TCP connectivity (5582 / 443)

  • Tried different networks / hotspots

  • Reinstalled Husarnet and retried the join

  • Cleared Husarnet state and rejoined

The issue still persists with the same timeout.

I noticed that this exact problem was already discussed by targrover in November 2025

Any guidance from the Husarnet team or users who resolved this would be appreciated.

things are working on our side, but I can see from the logs that there might be connectivity issues in past 2 hours. Can you please check again?

Sorry about the issues reccuring recently. We still need a little more fine tuning to the new infra to bring it to the stability level of the old one and we are grateful for your patience and all the reports and logs.
